Maria Blaszkiw, ATR-P Art Therapist (she/her)

Maria has a strong belief that everyone should have access to art as it is transformative in its ability for reaching deeper self-discovery and community connection. She focuses on illuminating her clients’ strengths, nurturing their personal growth, fortifying relationships, and enriching social bonds. Maria aims to create manageable goals and witness the transformative power of art.

Maria’s philosophy taps into the uniqueness of the art process to support any goal by blending the interaction of mind, body, and spiritual activities. Rooted in humanistic approaches, she attends to each client's unique experience, spotlighting their strengths as guides towards their goals. Maria uses multicultural and social justice theories to inform her practice, as these elements contribute to a person’s well-being. Maria’s clients can expect to encounter a world of whimsy and wonder, blending the fun of an art studio with the comfort of a therapeutic space. She implements a non-intimidating array of familiar and funky art materials, hoping to spark new perspectives on life's challenges and transitions. 

Maria received a BA in Art Therapy from Notre Dame of Maryland University and an MA in Art Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School. Her experience thus far has brought interest in supporting needs around mental health, ADHD, life transitions, trauma, self esteem, stress & mindfulness, and social dimensions. Maria has also brought a holistic perspective through ecopsychology training.

Maria is a creator, artist, dancer, hiker, cook, and puzzle completer.
