Horticultural Therapy

The practice of Horticultural Therapy (HT) uses plants, gardens, and nature-based activities to promote well-being.

Horticultural therapists actively engage and involve clients with plants and nature, indoors or out, with the intent of improving cognitive, physical, social and emotional well-being.

Activities can help improve memory, language skills, cognitive ability and socialization.  Clients can learn new skills or regain old ones.

Horticultural therapy is a highly adaptable form of therapy—it is useful in a variety of settings and is effective in addressing a wide range of needs.
